Team highlights

-The boys’ team finished 6th out of 19 teams. The girls team finished 13th out of 19 teams.
-The boys’ team finished only 7 points behind Pueblo West.
-As a team, we ran 7 PRs, 5 PCRs, and one Season Best!
-Karisa Sabisch led the girls’ team for the first time while running a PR by 48 seconds! She became the 4th different girl to lead the team this year!
-Josiah became the first freshman this year to break the 20:00 barrier, setting a new PR by 33 seconds. He finished 4th in the JV race.
-Anthony Erker set a new PR by 61 seconds whle finishing 23rd in the JV race!
-The top 4 girls were separated by only 60 seconds. The top 5 boys were separated by only 43 seconds!

Athletes of the Week:
Boys: Josiah Valenzuela
From the gun, Josiah went to the front of the JV race. He battled with three other runners throughout the 5k, falling back to 4th place out of 106 runners as he crossed the line. Josiah became the 8th member of the team to break the 20:00 barrier this year!
Girls: Karisa Sabisch
With a great kick and a ton of determination, Karisa finished atop the team for the first time ever. Her time of 23:28 was a PR by 48 seconds. She finished in 53rd place, earning letter points for her performance in the race!
